Civic Education

“Participatory Democracy,” or civic involvement, is a major component of the True Courage Action Network’s empowerment program.

TCAN’s goal is to educate, inform, motivate, and thus empower people to make government responsive to the needs and desires of the people and concerned with the common good, rather than catering to private and special interests. TCAN does this in part through seminars, workshops, forums, and civic education programs.

We offer two types of civic education curricula: one is aimed at members of public and private social, civic, and fraternal groups, while the other is for students in schools and colleges. In these programs we present information about how government is supposed to function, how it really works, and how the public—both adults and students—can take action to make it work well for all of us.

Stay tuned to our website and email list for more information about these programs and opportunities for you to be part of the action.
