Delivering a Daring Testimony: Craig McDonald of Texans for Public Justice
all said that having a network of friends is what made it possible to pass legislation that’s good for Texas and Texans. And to block the stuff that’s bad.
No one who attended Thursday night’s event could walk away cynical about the Texas Legislature. On the contrary — most attendees I talked to came away with a renewed sense of vigor. When you hear a champion of the people tell you that you had a hand in enabling him to, say, block a vote-suppressing bill, it does something to you.
It’s always been clear that there is much work to be done to put the government back in the hands of the people, but knowing that this kind of people are our comrades makes the prospect seem attractive, not daunting.
Let’s make Thomas Jefferson proud and go kick some kleptocrat butt.
